Call For Papers
Abstracts Due November 20, 2009 March 7-9, 2010
Richmond, VirginiaThe Virginia Floodplain Management Association (VFMA), in conjunction with the Virginia Lakes and Watersheds Association (VLWA) is seeking papers for presentation at the Virginia Water Conference 2010. Recent conferences have provided an excellent opportunity to learn about current local, state, and federal regulations and practices in floodplain management. The conference is typically attended by more than 200 professionals from the public and private sectors. Presentations are selected based on abstract summaries, which will be published in the conference proceedings. Submittal Requirements Please submit floodplain-management-related abstracts in Microsoft Word™ format. Use letter-sized format with one-inch margins all around and at least 10-point typeface with a maximum of two such pages. Abstracts must include the presentation title as well as the names, organizations, addresses, and phone numbers of all authors. In a second document, submit a brief biographical sketch for each speaker suitable for a 30-second introduction. Include the speaker’s name, organization, position, and related interests. If topics are received that would fit better in a concurrent VLWA conference track, they will be passed on to VLWA for consideration. All speakers must register for the conference and pay the appropriate registration fee through VLWA at www.vlwa.org. VLWA handles the registrations and all fees, and has a concurrent call for papers. Authors will be notified regarding acceptance by January 15, 2010, and the program will be published by February 3, 2010. Exhibition space and conference sponsorships are available.
